Events  The Bastille’s Conquer Day14-07-2008 «Ashtarak-Kat» visited the embassy of France in Armenia and extended its heartiest congratulations to French people and the representative of France in Armenia – Ambassador Serj Smessov. The Bastille’s Conquer Day June 14th is a symbolic day for France - their Republic day. In 1789 revolted Parisians took by storm the fortress- The prison of Bastille – symbol of royal despotism. This event is considered to be the beginning of the great French revolution. This day is celebrated with great pomp. The French people does not consider this holiday revolutionary any longer. It is not important what has happened and how it happened 300 years ago. All French are just celebrating something very bright, joyful and patriotic. 14th of June is the most expensive party in France. It is celebrated with special luxury in all parts of the country.
